Terms of Service
Last updated: February 22, 2026
Thank you for using OSCAR. When we say "we", "us", or "our" in this document, we are referring to the people who build and run OSCAR. When we say "Service", we mean OSCAR and everything it offers. When we say "you", we mean the person or organization using OSCAR.
By using OSCAR in any way, you agree to these Terms of Service. These Terms apply to all current and future features we add to the Service. If you do not agree, please do not use OSCAR. There may be times where we do not enforce a particular right or provision — doing so does not mean we are waiving it permanently.
Your Account
You need an account to use OSCAR. When registering, you must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account — do not share it with others. You must be of legal age to form a binding contract in your country, or have obtained your parent's or guardian's permission to use OSCAR. You must be at least 13 years old.
Payment and Billing
Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis. Prices are listed in INR and USD. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel. We will notify you at least 30 days in advance of any price changes.
If you are upgrading from a free plan to a paid plan, your billing cycle starts on the day of upgrade. All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes — where required, we will collect and remit taxes on your behalf.
Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you retain access until that date. We do not offer partial refunds for mid-cycle cancellations.
New subscriptions are eligible for a refund within 7 days of purchase. Technical issues may qualify for prorated refunds. All refund requests must be submitted through the proper channels as described in our Refund Policy.
Fair Use
Usage limits are enforced based on your subscription tier. Excessive or abusive use may result in service limitations. We reserve the right to temporarily limit your account if your usage significantly exceeds typical usage — we will reach out before taking any action except in rare cases where it may affect other users. Commercial use of OSCAR requires a paid subscription.
Your Content
You own what you create. All voice recordings and notes you produce using OSCAR remain yours and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. By using OSCAR, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not claim ownership over anything you create.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use OSCAR only for lawful purposes. You may not use the Service to violate any laws or regulations, infringe on intellectual property rights, transmit harmful or offensive content, attempt to breach security or access other users' accounts, reverse engineer or copy the Service, use automated tools to abuse the Service, or resell or redistribute it in any form. Uploading malware or malicious code of any kind is strictly prohibited.
Our Intellectual Property
The Service itself — including all software, features, and designs — is owned by OSCAR and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of it without express written permission.
AI-Generated Content
Our AI formatting aims to produce clean, accurate notes but it is not perfect. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before relying on it. We do not guarantee complete accuracy.
Features and Bugs
We build OSCAR with care and test all features before releasing them. That said, no software is completely bug-free. We track reported bugs and work through them, prioritizing anything related to security or data. We make no guarantees that the Service will meet every specific requirement or expectation, and not all reported bugs will receive a fix.
Service Availability
We work to keep OSCAR available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be announced when possible. We are not liable for service interruptions, including those caused by third-party services we depend on.
Liability
We built OSCAR to be reliable and useful, but we cannot make guarantees about everything. The Service is provided as-is. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages — things like lost data, lost revenue, or disruption to your work — arising from your use of OSCAR. If we are ever found liable for something, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months. We are not responsible for data loss, so please keep your own backups of anything important to you.
Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if your account is used for fraudulent activity, if required by law, or if you request deletion yourself. Where possible, we will notify you before taking action so you can retrieve your data — except where doing so would be harmful or impractical.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through an in-app notification and refresh the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use OSCAR after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of India.
